This winter wonderland, LaplandUK, is now in its third winter. This is, by far, the country’s best winter theme park and the best attempt to bring the magic of Santa to, not only locals, but tourists as well. The concept for LaplandUK was conceived in 2006 by Mike and Alison Battle. This is a husband and wife team that just simply wanted to recreate the feeling of Christmas in the UK.

The park itself occupies about ten acres of land in Tunbridge Wells. Of course, unlike other theme parks that bring in tourists, this one is more like a journey than an actual theme park with rides. As people enter the park, they will be greeted by elves that will take them on a tour of their toy factory. Here kids can help Santa make gifts. Another thing that people love to do is send postcards from the North Pole Post Office back to their friends and family back home.

Although this is a place where people love to come and visit, the park has been under some criticism for pricing in the past. The tickets range in prices of £57.50 and £87.50 each. Of course, that being said, it costs quite a bit to make this little winter getaway come to life every year. Unlike other theme parks, this one has to be put up and taken down each year. This is also a theme park that leaves behind a very small carbon footprint, which is a big deal nowadays.
