According to the most-recent reports, Flybe has announced plans to cut many of its winter routes. Of course, this should not come as much of a shock to most people. It is no secret that the airline industry has been hit hard recently. In order to save a bit of cash, many airlines have been cutting back on routes. Flybe is going to be cutting its routes by 6 percent due to low demand and rising oil prices. These high oil prices have been affecting airlines across the globe.

Flybe, which is the largest regional airline in Europe, runs about 70 percent of its flights from the UK. Thus, it is pretty safe to assume that the airline is having to cut back on routes due to a lack of demand in the UK. Of course, the lack of demand has been seen all over the world, not just in the UK. This drop in passengers has been hard for many airlines to deal with.

On Wednesday, the carrier said that revenue for the six months to October was up 6.4 percent. However, this is expected since last year’s demand was hit hard by the volcanic ash disruptions. Since there has been no such problem this year, one would hope that revenue would have been a bit higher.

Overall, pre-tax profits were at £14.3 million. This is a number that is actually down from last year’s £19.8 million. Passenger revenue per available seat did rise 5.8 percent to £49.88. This was likely due to higher fares and ancillary revenues.

It is safe to assume that Flybe will not be the only airline this year cutting seats and routes. Experts expect that many other airlines in Europe are going to be cutting down their winter timetables as well.

It now seems that the chairman of Flybe Jim French, has made his frustrations known with falling shares. This little outburst came on the heels of the airline announcing its third profit warning since December of last year. Shares for the airline have currently taken a 36 percent nosedive.

Jim, who is also the chief executive of Flybe, said that he is currently more frustrated than cross with the way things have been going. He said that he is frustrated for this staff and members of management, who are delivering a great business. Despite this, they continue to see shares drop. They should not take it personal, but some can’t help but to do so.

The shares of the company used to be listed at 295p. They have recently dropped off by 3.65 percent to just 65p. This is a drop of 78p for those keeping track. All of this has happened since Bank of America Merrill Lynch brought this carrier to the market. This did raise about £60 million from investors, however.

Flybe did say that they had a good summer. However, last month, they saw a significant slowdown in sales across the UK domestic network. This has caused a number of analysts to slash their profit forecasts for the company.

Andrew Fitchie, who is a broker for Investec Securities, said that he has cut his pre-tax estimates to £6.5 million. This is a huge drop from the £20 million that he had predicted to start with. He said that companies are looking to cut costs, and typically travel is the first thing to go. This goes double in an age where most things can be done online. This includes conferences, which can now be handled by way of video chat.

New reports now show that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge flew home on a low-cost carrier after attending the wedding of William’s cousin, Zara Phillips in Edinburgh. The low-cost carrier that the royal couple flew on was Flybe.

This was actually a very smart move by the royal couple to fly on the low-cost carrier. People, here lately, have been paying close attention to how royalty is traveling. When the royal family travels on these kinds of planes, it looks good that they shunned the more expensive flights and flew for less. After all, it is important to note that Flybe does not even have a first class section.

Needless to say, some of the passengers on the plane were a bit shocked to see the Duke and Duchess flying on a Flybe jet with the commoners. Of course, flying on the same flight as this royal couple was about the only thing that the other passengers had in common with them. In fact, after the plane landed, the royal couple was picked up in a private car on the tarmac. No one else on the plane was treated with this kind of luxury.

As said earlier, the couple was returning from the Scottish capital where William’s cousin was getting married to rugby star Mike Tindall this past Saturday. William and Kate are believed to have flown back into Manchester, because William is based at RAF Valley in Anglesey.

However, Flybe is not going to brag about the couple flying with them. In fact, a spokesperson for the airline said that they would not and could not comment on the couple’s trip. This is because they have to respect the privacy of their passengers.

It now seems that the well known airline, Flybe, has received a boost. This announcement comes less than a week after Ryanair said it was vacating the airport. Flybe announced three new routes from George Belfast City Airport.

Flybe said its plans would involve placing two extra aircraft at the airport. The airline said that this could lead to the creation of up to 250 indirect jobs. It went on to add that 215 people are already directly employed by Flybe in Belfast.

The Flybe chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter, said that the three routes were crucial to Northern Ireland. He said that Flybe has been serving the community in Northern Ireland for over 26 years and, they are wholly committed to continue providing comprehensive connectivity throughout all of the UK and beyond. The airline hopes to offer consumers full flexibility and choice.

The Tourism Minister, Arlene Foster, went on to congratulate the airline for filling the routes that were left open by Ryanair. Arlene went on to say that Flybe is showing long term commitment to Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, easyJet said that it was offering a special rescue fee. This means that the airline is offering £10 each way to travel on the routes where its flights overlapped with those of Ryanair. Thus, it turns out that Ryanair leaving Belfast airport is a great opportunity for, not only other airlines, but a great chance for consumers to save some money.

Of course, it is very common for other airlines to do this. Once an airline pulls out of an airport, others rush in to offer special deals to get the dropped passengers to choose them over the other airlines. Looks like easyJet won this race.

According to some new reports, starting July 15th, Flybe will be launching its newest service between London’s Gatwick Airport and Nantes. Apparently this route is suppose to run six times a week. As of now the plan is for the flights to depart Gatwick at 12:25pm and arrive in Nantes at 2:50pm.

The return flights are set up on a bit of a different schedule. Apparently these flights are going to leave Nantes at 3:30pm and arrive at Gatwick airport around 3:55pm. These schedules are designed to be as helpful to the most amount of people as possible. Although there are a number of different time slots that the airline could have used, they chose these based on the thought that these time slots should be the most appealing to the vast majority of the public.

The chief commercial officer of Flybe, Mike Rutter, said that they have an enviable reputation for serving regional France. This new route linking London Gatwick with Nantes just goes on to demonstrate the companies ongoing commitment to expanding their network and to providing innovation. The company wants to provide the best quality travel options to key destinations.

Nantes was chosen due to the fact that it is actually the sixth largest city in all of France. Thus, it is a very popular destination for people all over Europe, as well as other countries around the world. Flybe is also going to launch flights from London Gatwick to Limoges starting July 13th. Thus, it appears that Flybe will now start to expand once again. More new routes are likely to be announced soon.

These new routes are set to boost Flybe’s summer weekly schedule to 3,738 flights overall. The new services from Birmingham include 3 per week to Avignon, 4 per week to Bordeaux, 3 per week to Limoges, and 3 per week to Rennes. There will also be a Bristol to the Isle of Man service. Some other highlights that Flybe has talked about include the return of the airline’s French regional routes from Exeter to Avignon, Bergerac and Rennes, together with services to Dubrovnic and Norwich.

The Flybe chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter, said that in an environment in which other airlines are withdrawing so many of their services, Flybe would like to offer close to 4,000 summer flights a week. That includes the operation of another 16 brand new routes. Flybe wishes to stay committed to ensuring that it offers an extensive range of quality flights to the widest possible range of destinations for a good price.

Flybe, a regional carrier, as well as the biggest airline in Europe, is offering customers free job insurance for holiday cancellations, which will allow them to claim a refund in full for their costs of traveling if their jobs are lost. This insurance is only offered to those passengers that book car hire, hotel accommodations, and flights for the month of January for travel dates before October 24th. The travelers must also have been employed by the same company or employer for 2 years minimum with continuous work.

The airline said they are responding to the continuing pressures on people from the economic climate. Mike Rutter, the Chief Commercial Officer for Flybe, said that these times are unprecedented, and they want to do what they can in order for the economy to keep moving. Customers can book travels during January with Flybe, knowing that they will be able to receive a full refund on their trip if their job is lost before their travels, leaving them unable to enjoy their break, he continued. Flybe knows that breaks and holidays are important to their passengers, he added, and that’s the reason for the introduction of this totally unmatched guarantee across the industry.

The Book With Confidence offer applies to everything that is included in booking holidays through Flybe. If customers lose their jobs and have to cancel their holiday, then they will receive a refund of all the expenses, which include fees for luggage, booking charges, as well as other taxes and fees from the airport.

While passengers prepared for landing in Paris, they were stunned to hear their captain tell them that he isn’t qualified to land their flight. The pilot then turned the plane around to return to their departure point.

On Tuesday, passengers told stories of their surprise at hearing their captain give this announcement while they waited 30,000 feet in the air to make a landing in Paris, which was covered with a thick fog. Even though the pilot has 30 years of experience in flying, the murky weather seemed to be past his skill for making a landing.

After the unsettling announcement was made, the pilot turned the aircraft around to make the 300-mile journey back to the Cardiff International Airport. Stunned passengers were told that he didn’t pass his training for low-visibility for that specific plane yet.

One passenger, Cassandra Grant of 29 years, missed an interview due to the turn around. She said that they were around 20 minutes away from landing, and then the pilot said that he was unfortunately not qualified for landing the aircraft at the airport. The airport requested level two qualification for the landing, but he only had level five, she continued, so they had to fly back. Grant added that the experience was amazing, as she had never heard of anything like it.

Fog had begun to move in on the Cardiff International Airport that morning, but luckily all was clear by the time the aircraft returned. Many passengers were disappointed and puzzled about the turn of events, and question of the pilot’s qualifications were an oncoming concern.

A spokesman for the airline stood by the pilot’s decision, saying that he has recently transferred his type-rating and hasn’t completed the requisite training for low-visibility needed in order to complete a landing through the foggy conditions at the airport in Paris. He added that the pilot’s decision was correct, and they stand by it 100%.

Flybe, a regional budget airline, has announced that they will be increasing their services from the Scottish Aberdeen Airport. They have already started to operate 3 new flights from their Scottish airport base to Jersey, Southampton, and Gatwick, which are in addition to services from Aberdeen to Leeds Bradford, Belfast, Exeter, and Birmingham airports. The carrier is also offering services to Sumburgh with Longanair, their new franchise partner.

Mike Rutter, the Chief Commercial Officer of Flybe, commented that they have plans for Scotland over the long term, and will keep exploring all the possibilities for extending their services by anticipating the public’s travel needs, as well as enhancing and adapting their operations in response to their customers’ wants.

On Tuesday, Flybe achieved a benchmark at the Aberdeen Airport, sending their first ever flight from the airport to Gatwick run by their Aberdeen crew. Captain Aidan Bell, First Officer Alex van der Veer, Laura Anne Stevenson, Nicola Redgrave, and Gary Duncan crewed the flight, who all live in the city. Rutter said that they have always stressed their commitment of enhancing regional economies through their operations. They are also keen on cultivating local employees, he continued, so it was delightful to reach the point of that first Aberdeen crewed flight.

Flybe has reinforced their green credentials as well, through a new environmentally sensitive Kilfrost de-icing fluid that, they say, will greatly reduce their carbon footprint. The carrier has also invested £2billion in new planes in order to develop a fleet that, they claim, will be one of the most fuel efficient and youngest worldwide by the end of next year.
