According to the latest aviation industry reports, British Airways and Japan Airlines have recently agreed to a revenue deal. This new agreement will be on flights between Europe and Japan. This move is of course going to make their Oneworld alliance just that much more competitive.

Of course, this new revenue-sharing deal is not just good news for the airlines. Reports also show that this joint venture is good for consumers as well. This is because it will lead to more choices being offered to more routes.

The parent company of British Airways, the International Airlines Group, said that despite the difficulties the Japanese aviation market has faced in recent years, they have great confidence in doing business with Japan Airlines. The business outlook for the company overall looks very promising.

Of course, this latest announcement should not come as a shock to most people. In fact, it was well known that the International Airlines Group, which was formed due to a merger between British Airways and Iberia, was keen on the idea of a joint venture with Japan Airlines. Now, this new scheme has become a reality.

However, the deal is not complete just yet. Right now, Japan Airlines has submitted an application to the Japanese government seeking antitrust immunity. Not only that, but the International Airlines Group has been in contact with the European Union. However, most experts agree that they see no reason why this deal would be rejected by either government body. Thus, it seems like only a matter of time before this deal is set in stone.

Want to take a class on how to survive a plane crash? Well, for the people who said yes, British Airways has just what they are looking for. Apparently, the airline is going to offer a four-hour safety class for British Airways frequent flyers. The class can be purchased with cash or with air miles.

The class is being offered to members of its Executive Club. The class will cost an extra $195 for people who want to take it. The course aims to teach people techniques that will help increase their chances of surviving an air disaster, and it covers topics such as how to release a seat belt and locating the life perseveres on a plane.

People who are taking part in this class will get a chance to practice an emergency evacuation of an air plane using the escape slide. The course will not only help people learn to save their own lives, but the lives of others around them. It is hard to put a price on being a hero.

Andy Clubb, who is the man running this class, said that it makes passengers safer. After all, the more information and skills that people have, the safer they are going to be. This class is going to help give people more confidence when it comes to flying.

Mr. Clubb went on to say, when passengers around them are reacting in a positive manner, it is less likely that other passengers will freeze up under pressure. The ones that do lock up, can follow the directions of other passengers on the plane that know what they are doing. Overall, this course is based on saving lives.

Reports have just recently announced that a British Airways manager was able to bring in about £250,000 from a ticket swapping scam. Apparently the manger, Mark Smith, bought hundreds of very cheap advance tickets and then sold them last-minute at a very expensive price. Overall, the scam allowed him to sell a ticket that he bought for about £1,700 weeks before at about £5,500 just before take-off.

Reports show that the scam was finally exposed during a security audit at Heathrow Airport. It was during this audit that Mark Smith, age 36, was taken to jail. It was later learned that Allan Russell, who was apparently a colleague of Mr Smith, was cleared of any wrong doing by the court. Despite this Allan was still dismissed from British Airways.

Apparently Smith would buy the advance tickets and then ask Allan to convert them at the last second on a check-in computer. These expensive tickets would then be sold through a fake travel agency called Churchley Smith Lifestyle Ltd.

It was later learned that Mr Russell was given free concert tickets to shows like Take That and X Factor by Mr Smith for helping him convert the tickets. Mr Russell also went on to say that he did nothing wrong and was sacked for no reason at all. During a recent interview, Mr Russell apparently said that he told British Airways bosses that it was very common practice for British Airways employees to change ticket dates on behalf of their colleagues.

The British Airways auditor found the scam after he saw that 193 bookings had been made using the same credit card, which apparently belonged to Smith. He also found that 310 bookings had been made using Smith’s email address.

It has been a long time coming. In fact, some people believed that this day may never come, but it finally has. Apparently British Airways has just recently said that it has reached a new agreement with Unite the Union. This new agreement could finally bring an end to the long running dispute between these two groups.

These reports go on to say that the agreement had already been backed by over 2,000 members of cabin crew union British Airlines Stewards and Stewardesses Association. However, the union does have to run the ballot by all of its 9,000 cabin crew members to get a final verdict. The good news is that most experts do not think it will be hard to get this deal approved. After all, the deal is already being backed by the Unite leaders, as well as many of the cabin crew members.

This is great news for many of the airline’s passengers. Now, since this vote was positive, the union will not be running its planned strike next week. For those that did not know, it was believed that there was going to be another union strike which, in turn, would have caused a lot of travel chaos. It as nice that the airline was able to avoid this strike.

Overall, the whole goal of this deal is to bring an end to this long running, 18-month dispute. Pretty much, this is a dispute that has already lead to over 20 days of strikes. It has also caused the cancellation of hundreds of flights. Experts also point out that it has cost British Airways close to £150 million.

It now seems that the biggest carrier in the UK, British Airways, is going to waste no more time in starting to advertise for the Olympic Games, which will be held in London in 2012. Of course, some experts are not shocked at all by this move. After all, British Airways paid a good deal of money for its sponsorship agreement with the games.

So far, British Airways has been holding off on any kind of advertising for the Olympic Games. This is a move that some experts have seen as kind of odd. They expected that British Airways would have started to utilize its sponsorship partnership a long time ago. They could have used it in their marketing campaigns to help drive up more sales. After all, the carrier did sign a big £40 million tier one sponsorship deal nearly three years ago.

Of course, now British Airways is looking to use that agreement. The airline already launched its Olympic Games ads this week. However, just because it already started does not meant that it will be ending soon. In fact, they plan on running these ads through to next year. Of course, the airline also noted that the ad campaign will not be running on TV.

In two forms of media, the British Airways campaign has already gotten underway. In fact, as of last Thursday, British Airways has started to advertise via online ads. The next ads that people will be seeing will show up in national print.

For British Airways, this is the largest marketing scheme that it has used in years, by far. The first portion of this campaign is set to kick off now and will run for the next three months. However, the second portion of this campaign is going to start up by the end of May. This part of the campaign is going to feature athletes that will be trying to make the Great Britain Olympic team.

According to new reports, the chairman of British Airways, Sir Martin Broughton, has currently asked officials to adopt a lighter security check process at airports for frequent flyers and airline workers. He said that this is a much needed change, because there should be a “risk-based approach” at airports instead of the current “one size fits all” style of security.

During a speech at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Sir Broughton said that he questions if it makes sense to run the same kind of security checks on a pilot that an airport would run on a student visiting from Yemen. A lot of people who should not have to are currently suffering a lot of inconveniences. Apparently this is all being done for uniformity’s sake, and it’s not right.

While trying to prove his case, Martin said that the US Global Entry System uses a risk-based system much like what he wants to see used in the airline industry. He said that the system allows for people to actually pass through immigration lines faster after passing a series of checks. He said that he did not understand how the same principle could not be used for airport security systems.

In the end, Sir Broughton would really like to see lighter security checks for flight crew members overall. He said that they should be the ultimate trusted travelers. These kinds of people could very easily cause more damage to people without the use of any kind of explosives. Thus, people are already putting their lives in airline workers’ hands.

It now seems that well-known airline British Airways has just lost its third pension trustee. This news comes as unions set up to launch a legal challenge over changes to the way that pension payments are actually calculated.

This time the trustee to leave was Graham Tomlin, who was part of the Airways Pension Scheme (APS). Reports show that he left his role on Friday, following the airline’s choice to use a typically lower measure of inflation to calculate pension payments.

Experts say that this change actually could hurt pensioners. In fact, this switch to consumer prices index (CPI) inflation could cut their payments by up to 20pc. Apparently Tomlin’s resignation follows that of Mike Post and Cliff Pocock. All three of these men left their post in protest over this new move by the airline.

For those that do not know, up until this year the airline had been using the retail prices index (RPI) measure of inflation. This kind of measurement is currently running about 1.3 percent higher. Either way, due to the fact of these people leaving, the APS only has 9 trustees rather than 12.

In a letter of resignation, Mr Tomlin said that, just like Cliff and Ike before him, he believes that it is in the duty of the trustees to serve the interest of the beneficiaries of the APS. He then said that he currently feels like the Airways Pension Scheme has become a political football game, with the beneficiaries paying the ultimate price. Lately, going to trustee meetings have not felt the same as in years past.

According to new reports, British Airway fliers have some good news heading their way. Apparently the airline has just recently announced that the Unite trade union has said that they will not be striking during Easter or the Royal Wedding. This moves both parties just slightly closer to a peace deal in a very long running dispute.

This great news is not just limited to the Royal Wedding and Easter. In fact, British Airways is hoping that this means that the Unite union will not be striking during the very popular summer season at all. The truth of the matter is that British Airways is very lucky that they were able to stop these strikes since the union members had already voted in favor of one.

Of course, the airline cannot gain something without giving something. So British Airways has granted the union a 28-day extension to the current strike mandate. This is something that was suppose to expire as of today (Monday). By doing this, it gives Unite a bit of breathing room to carry out further talks.

This big jump forward is being credited to the new negotiating climate that was made possible after Keith Williams was appointed the new British Airways chief executive. Willie Walsh, who used to be the chief executive has now been moved up the chain of command and is now the head of the new merged British Airways and Iberia company, International Airlines Group (IAG).

Overall, this is great news for British Airways. After all, last year the airline had to deal with 22 days of strikes. Although the airline was good at dealing with these strikes, it still cost them some £150 million.

It now seems that British Airways is going to relaunch its brand later on this year. This announcement comes just following its big merger with Iberia. So what will change with this re-branding? Well the details of the relaunch are going to be kept very secret until later this autumn.

Despite this, British Airways did say that they hope that its relaunching will put the airline back on the map as one of the world’s iconic brands. This would be a big step for British Airways considering the fact that the airline is better known right now for strikes than offering quality service.

Some reports do suggest that British Airways got creative agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, as well as digital and direct agency OgilvyOne to help out. One of the spokesmen for British Airways said that they are currently working on relaunching the British Airways brand. This will first be seen with their staff and then later on in an advertising campaign.

Another big reason for this relaunching campaign is to help clear up all of the confusions right now after its merger with Iberia. Currently a lot of consumers remain very confused as to how this merger will affect them.

The former British Airways global head of marketing, Kerris Bright, said that the campaign will put a great brand back on the map. It is very important with British Airways to connect with its consumers.

Although it was nice for Bright to give people a little insight on the relaunching of British Airways, it is not known how much she actually knows about the relaunching of the brand. That is because she actually left British Airways earlier this month.

Fuel is the lifeblood of any airline. With oil prices continuing to rise, the lifeblood that airlines need to stay in operation is starting to become more expensive. Due to this, some airlines have had little choice but to increase their fuel surcharges. One such airline is British Airways, who has just announced a new £10 increase to its fuel surcharge.

This is now the third increase in just under four months for British Airways. The price of buying tickets to long haul locations like the Far East and the Caribbean just got a lot more expensive. This has a lot of travel experts wondering if consumers are going to be able to keep paying these inflated prices.

A spokesman for the airline said that their fuel costs are at a record high. This has been caused by a number of things. However, the biggest causes of this increase are high oil prices and the strengthening dollar. He then went on to say that their fuel bill is now about £9 million a day. The company has seen a 17 percent rise in jet fuel since their last fuel surcharge back in 2011.
