New reports now show that Etihad Airways aims to invest $750 million into its workforce. However, this money will also go into its in flight service, planning and resource, as well as its fleet. This news, which was actually just announced at this week’s Dubai Air Show, comes just days after the airline secured the prestigious World’s Leading Airline travel award.

The Etihad Airways’ chief executive, James Hogan, when speaking at a press conference at the Dubai Air Show, said that Etihad Airways has taken great strides forward in only six years of time. He went on to say that they have been able to create a compelling brand that offers outstanding service.

James Hogan continued that this progress for the airline was recognized last week when the airline was given the title of the world’s leading airline at the World Travel Awards. James Hogan went on to say that, over the course of this week, he would be making further announcements relating to strategic contracts, initiatives, and partnerships.

Some other announcements that came from Etihad Airways include a $200 million contract with International Aero Engines to provide a very comprehensive overhaul and repair service for 14 Airbus aircrafts for Etihad Airways’ narrow body fleet. Also a major contract was taken out with Lufthansa Technik to install the airline’s new first class suite. This is set to be done in nine of its Airbus A340’s. The work will involve a complete renovation of the cabin, gallery area, and a brand new in flight entertainment system in order to offer passengers the best overall experience.
