Innovations and advancements by Europcar recognised at the World Travel Awards

Car rental giant Europcar was named the World’s Leading Car Rental Company at the World Travel Awards last week, after being awarded the title of Europe’s Leading Car Rental Company in Portugal last month.

The World Travel Awards is often considered the most prestigious award for the travel industry, with over 187,000 industry professionals voting for the best company in a variety of categories in seven regions throughout the world.

The two global awards do not only reflect Europcar’s professionalism, but also commitment to customer satisfaction, which the company describes as a double victory, and strengthens the company’s position as one of Europe’s leading car rental firms.

Global marketing director of Europcar, Jehan de Thé, who accepted the award in London, said that the company was truly proud to have won the awards, which represent Europcar’s commitment to providing the highest quality of service, a value shared by the company’s entire network .

The car hire company has been leading the way over recent months, with a range of new technological advances and car hire industry innovations, inclouding the new B2B website, click4wheels, which facilitates vehicle reservations through the websites of Europcar’s travel agency and tour operator partners.

The company has also launched a new mobile phone reservation service which allows customers to make or change a reservation or even find the nearest rental location from their mobile phone, which is available from standard mobiles, Blackberrys, iPhones and other smartphones.

Europcar took also took out the awards for Leading Car Hire Company in the Middle-East, Leading Car Hire Company in Africa and Leading Car Hire Company in Central America.
