It now seems that drivers have been warned of high amounts of traffic for this half term holiday. Of course, experts have gone on to point out there that are many things that could add to the amount of traffic that will be associated with half term traffic this year.

The Highways Agency and safety campaigners have already warned drivers that, on Sunday, clocks get moved back, meaning that drivers will actually be facing darker driving conditions in the evenings during half term breaks. This is likely to add to the holiday traffic.

The Met Office went on to predict that the half term could also bee filled with some very mixed weather this year. They said it is likely to be filled with a few bright periods, but also a lot of showers as well. This will, of course, make driving conditions even worse.

The AA said that since this is the last chance for UK holidaymakers to take a foreign break before Christmas, people are likely to see a gridlock on many roads to airports and other major routes. It was also noted that roads are very likely to be busy on Sunday, Nov 1 when people start to head back home.

Some of the roads that are likely to be congested include M25, M6, and the A303 through Wilshire and Dorest. The M5 to south west England and the M55 to Blackpool are very likely to be backed up as well for all holiday travelers. Thus, holidaymakers and normal commuters that will be using these roads during the half term should consider preparing for delays.
