Easyjet Flight from Gibraltar Turns into Nightmare After Medical Emergencies
by Natalie Cooper October 23rd, 2009
Reports have come in that tell how a three hour flight from Gibraltar was turned into a 15 hour nightmare for passengers. This flight went from good to bad after three medical emergencies, a strike by the air traffic control and a technical fault all took place on the same flight.
Some of the people that were on board the plane said that the problems started when they arrived at the airport. It was there that the passengers were held up by a two hour delay because of a technical fault. The passengers were told that they were going to be transferred to Malaga.
After the plane took off again, a passenger on the plane started to suffer from a heart attack. Other reports show that, at the same time, another man had a suspected stroke and one of the crew members went down with appendicitis. This, of course, had to result in an unscheduled stop in Bordeaux.
However, the nightmare flight was not over, because after landing in Bordeaux, the plane was unable to take off again due to a strike by the French air traffic control unit. The plane was finally allowed to leave and did make it to Gatwick, but not until 13 hours after taking off from Gibraltar and 15 hours later than scheduled.
One passenger said that the pilot announced that the journey was the flight from hell. Everyone on the plane started to clap when the plane touched down at Gatwick airport. Easyjet, of course, apologized for the late arrival and said that every step had been taken to minimize the delay.
