The owner of a luxury car hire company accused of conning creditors out £750,000 and swindling a further £150,000 has appeared in the City of London Magistrates’ Court.

Koroush Pour, 33 years old, from Downpatrick in Ireland, was charged after an eight-month investigation conducted by the City of London Police’s Economic Crime Unit.

Pour ran Swift Hire Ltd, based in the West London suburb of Kensington, which the Fraud Prosecution Department said specialised in selling and renting luxury vehicles including Lamborghinis and Bentleys.

Pour has pleaded not guilty to carrying on the business of a company with the intent to defraud a creditor, and also denied that, between January 1 2006 and October 1 this year, that he was knowingly party to carrying on a business for a fraudulent purpose.

He has been accused of financing vehicles through Lombard North Central PLC and obtaining finance on the same vehicles through his customers.

Pour has been bailed to return to court on the 23rd of November on the condition that he resides with his Irish wife at his recorded address.
