Japan Airlines Finally Able to Reopen Lounge at Frankfurt Airport
by Andrew Drew October 8th, 2009
It seems that finally, after a lot of extensive renovations, Japan Airlines will be able to finally reopen its lounge in the departure hall of Frankfurt International Airport. The reopening of the lounge will take place on October 26 of this year.
The new lounge from Japan Airlines comprises of both the executive class Sakura Lounge and the First Class Lounge. The lounge is also going to be located just 2 minutes away from the departure gate, allowing passengers to have easy access to their flight. The new and improved area is now twice the size of its original lounge, and many features have been added in light of customer feedback.
Some of the amenities that will be provided in the lounge will be free wired LAN connections, PC power outlets, shower rooms, and much more. This is something that Japan Airlines has been wanting to give their passengers for a long time, and this month it will finally happen.
Despite the good news of the reopening of the lounge at Frankfurt Airport, it has not been all good for Japan Airlines. The carrier has recently been having money problems and has had their bailout turned down by the Japanese Government. Of course, the government has launched a group to look into the restructuring plan of Japan Airlines.
Other airlines have offered to help Japan Airlines, but until the group launched by the government finishes its report, Japan Airlines has put all other deals on hold. The report should be finished sometime in the near future, and then Japan Airlines will choose where to go from there.
