According to new research that has been done, sex toys and stuffed animals are among some of the most unusual objects that are targeted by light fingered hotel guests in 2009. Some other objects include things like televisions, bed linens and light fittings that have also been stolen from British hotels this year.

This new list proves that toiletries and towels are not the only things that are swiped by certain guests at hotels. Some staff at the Birmingham’s Hotel du Vin revealed how one would-be thief was caught trying to remove a stuffed head of a wild boar that was mounted in the billiard room. The hotel manager said that the man was rather embarrassed. He went on to say that a few weeks later one of the man’s friends actually came to the hotel and bought the stuffed head as a wedding present.

The Residence in Bath, which was formerly a boutique hotel and is now self-catering apartments, noted that they have some unusual objects go missing as well. Staff at the Residence in Bath said that the most frequently stolen things from them are sex toys. The place use to offer kinky accessories, at a price, to some adventurous travelers. They said that many times they would have to call up to guests and say that they caught them taking one of the sex toys without paying for it. Normally a long pause would follow.

All of this proves that guests that stay at hotels will try to take just about anything. Some of them feel that they are entitled to it since they paid to stay in the room, and others are just out for some free gifts. Either way, hotels have heard and seen guests try to take just about anything from their buildings.
