easyBus, which is the low cost airport transfer coach, said that it will be the only direct public transport that will link from Gatwick’s North Terminal to London for a period of almost seven long months. This is set to kick off September 2009 as the airport’s terminal transfer transit is taken out of service for a major overhaul lasting until summer of 2010.

However, the passengers that normally might have used the rial service to London, can now enjoy massive fare savings if they are willing to take advantage of easyBus’ lowest online fare of 2 pounds. This is a savings of almost 15 pounds when compared to rail fares.

Gatwick is currently quoting the connection time as being 20 minutes for the replacement bus service to the South Terminal. Thus, there is no real time disadvantage to passengers who opt to take the easyBus instead of the express rail. The journeys to London will take less than an hour.

The brand new inter terminal transit system, which is being installed at Gatwick Airport, is part of the airport’s 1 billion pound investment program. However, while this overhaul is taking place from September 28, 2009 till May 2010, the replacement bus service will have to operate between Gatwick’s North and South Terminals. Right now the service is said to run every three minutes during the day and every six minuets during the night.

The goal for easyBus and Gatwick Airport is to make sure that this overhaul does not affect the passengers. They aim to make sure that passengers do not experience delays due to using the bus service.
