Sixt Car Rental Report Increase In Revenue
by Andrew Drew September 2nd, 2009
UK car rental company Sixt, has recorded a high level of demand for both car rentals and business leasing for the second quarter of 2009, reporting an increase of revenue, up 7.8% compared to the first quarter.
The company cites the increase in revenue in cost cutting measures, including a reduction in rental fleet, that took place at the end of 2008.
Chairman of the managing board of Sixt, Erich Sixt, said: “Sixt has successfully adapted to the change in the market environment. The second quarter has shown that our cost-cutting and efficiency-enhancing measures are starting to take effect. A cautious fleet policy, price increases, customer-focused product innovations and cost awareness are the key factors for continued success in this environment.”
Ian Lawrence, the company’s managing director is pleased with the results, saying that he’s delighted that the company has achieved such high results considering the difficult market.
He added that the 7.8% increase in revenue would mean the company will remain upbeat for the rest of the financial year.
Sixt was also named the world’s best car hire agency in a readers’ survey from a Travel + Leisure magazine earlier this year.
