Hertz Policy Change Aimed To Attract Younger Drivers

UK Car rental firm Hertz has reduced its minimum age for customers to 19 in a bid to attract younger customers.
The move comes at a time when the industry has been hit hard by the recession and car hire companies are looking at new markets and innovations.
The minimum age has usually been between 23 and 25 years old and even higher in some countries. Hertz has announced that the minimum age for car and van hire will be reduced to 19 years old, in order to open up car hire to a new generation.
Hertz is one of the largest car hire firms in the UK, and it is anticipated that the move will be watched by others.
The reduction in minimum age will initially commence in the United Kingdom, Spain, Slovakia, Italy, Holland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Czech Republic.
In addition to lowering the minimum age, Hertz also offers student discounts of 15 percent on cars and 20% on vans, which Hertz hopes will be popular with the summer festival season.
