Europcar Launches Free Delivery And Pickup Service
by Howard Williams August 18th, 2009
As the travel industry fights against the recession, many companies have to come up with new and innovative methods to stay competitive. Car hire giant Europcar is further looking for ways to improve customer expectations by launching free deliver and pick-up of vehicles for customers in the UK.
Europcar will deliver and pick up the car to the customers home or office within two hours.
The company hopes to make car hire more convenient, and the service will be available for customers who rent cars for two days or more.
Previously, customers had to collect cars at locations such as at airports or at agency outlets and then drop them off at a designated location. Europcar will help customers avoid the hassle by delivering the car directly to the customer and picking it up at the same location.
The new service is free for locations within ten miles of the Europcar Outlet with a per mile fee applied thereafter, and is provided at most Europcar outlets across the UK.
“The timing for this couldn’t be better,” said Catriona Lougher, Spokeswoman for Europcar. “We know our customers want convenience, value and a simple, no nonsense car hire service. With household budgets stretched, and with reports that more of us will be staying in the UK for holidays this year, car hire is really coming into its own – whether it’s for a bigger, more reliable vehicle for a holiday or to replace a second family car.”
