A320 Catches Fire On Paris Runway

Eight passengers were injured when a plane’s engine caught fire on the runway before take-off.

Passengers were trated for shock and chafed skin when Vueling Airlines flight 9127 burst into flames at Orly airport in Paris.

The Airbus A320 was evacuated after a fire began on the right engine as it was taxing to the runway.

Passengers suffered minor bumps and scrapes whilst using the emergency exit slights and were treated at the scene by airport personel.

“Before getting out, everybody was panicking inside the plane,” passenger Arantza Urrejola told the Associated Press.

“When people heard about the incident, everybody was pushing each other to get out and eventually everybody went down the emergency slides.”

The airline said a replacement aircraft was to continue the flight to Alicante in Spain.
