The murder that took place in a Travelodge hotel near London back on 2007 draws closer to its end. Right now the jury for the trial is out and coming up with a verdict.
The case involves Glenn Rycroft, age 33, that is accused of murdering his gay lover, Gareth MacDonlad in a Travelodge hotel room. The jury that is out coming up with the verdict heard how Glenn Rycroft was accused of using a fire extinguisher to beat his gay lover to death.
Glenn Rycroft, who is actually a former British Airways steward, had been previously jailed for four years after he swindled relatives with an investment scam and then took more money from them by pretending he had terminal cancer.
The jury had also heard that the MacDonald had traveled to London in 2007 to see Rycroft. He had traveled up to see Rycroft so he could repay £6,000 to relatives who had fallen for one of Rycroft’s scams.
Rycroft said that he was asked to leave the room by his partner, who then said that he had arranged for a male prostitute to meet him at the Travelodge hotel. Whenever Rycroft returned, he found his lover’s body dead on the floor. He also found out that the money that was in his lover’s pocket, as well as his watch, was gone.
The trial has been going on for a long time, and the jury will be happy when this one is over. There is no set time yet as to when the jury is gong to come back with the results of the verdict.
