Just the other day, Heathrow Airport saw a glitch in its baggage system in Terminal 5. This luggage glitch left many passengers unable to check in. The problem also caused a huge baggage backlog. However, British Airways says that the problem was fixed by shortly after 6 pm.

This problem reminded many people of the problem that Terminal 5 had when it opened last year. Problems with the baggage reclaim had to force British Airways to cancel more than 34 flights on the first day alone.

A spokesperson for British Airways says that the Heathrow Airport operator, BAA, had informed them of a problem with the baggage system in Terminal 5. Due to this problem, a lot of passengers have been unable to check in their bags. The spokesperson went on to say that the check in is now reopened, but passengers can expect some delays. The spokesperson finished up by saying that they were very sorry for the inconvenience.

However, another spokesperson for British Airports Authority said that the flights continued to run on schedule in spite of the problem. She went on to say that the baggage problem at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 has caused them to just temporarily suspend luggage check in. They said that they were working with British Airways to help minimize the disruption to passengers.

Despite all that happened, there were no canceled flights from the baggage glitch in the Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. Many passengers say that they worry about this kind of thing happening again since it was much like the problem that the terminal had when it first opened up.
