Apparently British Airways passengers may soon be facing the threat of yet another strike. This time the strike could be taking place during Christmas. This news comes as the Unite union continues to try and escalate the long running cabin crew dispute.

Right now, the airline and the union are fighting over allegations of bullying during the last 22 days of strikes that happened earlier this year. This problem is threatening to derail the peace talks that have been going on between the airline and the trade union.

Of course, the cabin crew feel like they may need to do another strike to get their point across. However, with every strike that happens, the union loses more and more public support. This is because these strikes continue to, not only disrupt British Airways, but their planes as well. Also, British Airways looks like the hero for doing everything in their power to keep people flying.

Tony Woodley, one of the joint Unite general sectaries, said in an email to 12,000 Unite members that fresh strike ballots could be on the way. Of course, Woodley admitted that he was very reluctant to call for a ballot so soon. However, he is likely to call for one for the simple fact that he is under a lot of pressure form Unite members to do so.

A strike over the Christmas holiday would really push the Unite union out of favor with the public. Although the union believes in what it is fighting for, they have to chose their battles. They want to call strikes when it will hurt the airline the most, but in turn, they are hurting families all over the UK.
