The last thing that people want to hear when they are up in the air is that their plane is going to crash. Well this is just what happened to passengers on a recent British Airways flight. Apparently the people on the plane were told that they were about to make a crash landing out in the sea after hearing an emergency message. However, it was later found out that the message was simply played in error.

According to reports, there were some 275 people on the Boeing 747 plane that was flying from Heathrow to Hong Kong. A little ways into the flight, people heard a female voice come on the PA system that said that this was an emergency. The voice went on to say that they would shortly be making an emergency landing on water.

One of the passengers that was on the plane, Michelle Lord, age 32, said that people were just scared to death on the plane. Everyone was scared that there time was up and everyone was going to die. Another traveler said that it was the last thing that people wanted to be told when they are on a plane. No one wants to hear that their plane is about to crash.

Right now British Airways is investigating the incident but denied reports that the message was triggered in error by one of the pilots. The airline said that they do apologize to the passengers for the events that took place. The airline will look into this mishap and try to make sure that this does not happen again on any future flights.
