Apparently Bristol Airport is going to be getting a face lift sometime soon. Just recently the airport opened a walkway connecting the terminal building to eight new pre-boarding zones. This shows that the airport is doing what it can do expand despite the difficult climate.

This work that was shown off was part of a 12 month, £8 million project that will enable passengers to walk to and from the airport. This means that passengers will no longer have to be driven by bus. The airport pointed out that there are a number of things that this will help.

First of all, this will allow the airport to better implement priority boarding. However, this is also going to help the airport to reduce its emissions from airport vehicles. After all, the airport will no longer have to run as many buses, as passengers will be able to walk.

This will also mean that arriving passengers will be able to walk undercover from their aircraft to the terminal building. This will be a welcome addition, according to most passengers.

The CEO at Bristol Airport, Robert Sinclair, said that the new walkway delivers an improved service to their airline customers and their passengers as a whole. The walkway will make the airport journey more convenient, enjoyable and easy. It will remove the hassle of bus transfers for the majority of passengers. It is a statement of their ambition to be a world class airport in North Somerset.

Many airports have been looking for ways that they can go about lowering their carbon emissions. Cutting down on vehicle emissions is one area that many airports are exploring.
