Women Try to Smuggle Dead Relative onto an easyJet Flight
by Stuart Parker April 7th, 2010
Apparently there is nothing that people will not try. Just recently an easyJet flight out of England saw two women get arrested for trying to smuggle a dead relative on board. This is one of those stories where people just have to ask if they really thought that they were going to get away with it.
Reports go on to show that the suspects pushed the 91-year-old man in a wheelchair through Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport last Saturday. The two women had covered the man’s eyes with sunglasses, hoping that it would cover up the fact that he was not alive. The two women were apparently trying to get him on a flight that was headed to Berlin.
The two women, ages 41 and 66, went on to tell people that the lifeless man was just merely asleep. Despite this, staff at the check in desk started to get a little suspicious of the whole thing. It is believed that the couple had been doing pretty well so far in fooling people that the man was alive. Police say that they think the women where able to get the man to the airport by way of a 35 minute taxi ride.
The two women were later arrested on suspicion of failing to give notification of death to authorities. A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said that the police at the Liverpool John Lennon Airport were told about the death of a 91-year-old man in the terminal building. The two women have been released on bail until June 1st, of 2010.
The spokesman went on to say that the coroner has been informed and police are continuing with inquiries. As of right now the cause of death for the 91-year-old man is not yet known.
