Hilton Hotels announced on Monday that they have appointed Mark Konime as their new Senior Vice President of Sales and Commercial Development for America. In his new position, which began on Monday, Mark will have the responsibility of overseeing all of the sales strategies and developments throughout the organization in America. Mark is joining Hilton Hotels from his position of Executive Vice President for LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels, where he was responsible for directing marketing and sales strategies for the company’s properties across destinations in the United States and Caribbean. As a veteran in the hospitality industry, Mark has held executive roles with Seaport Companies of the Fidelity Hotel Group, Marriott Hotels and Resorts, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and Westin Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.

Ian Carter, the President of Global Operations at Hilton Hotels, said that Mark brings a lot of experience to the company, and they are looking forward to him joining their team. He will be joining them during an exciting time with the development of the company, he continued, and he has confidence that his expertise is going to prove invaluable to Hilton Hotels.

Additionally, Hilton Hotels has announced that Steve Armitage, their Senior Vice President over Sales in America, has retired, serving more than 30 years with the company. Rob Scypinski will take his place, being promoted, and has worked with Hilton Hotels for 30 years. Ian Carter added, that he thanks Steve for serving so many years with the company and the industry of hospitality, wishing him well in his retirement. Hilton Hotels is pleased to give Rob a promotion in recognition of his tremendous contributions to the company throughout his career, he also commented.
