According to British Airways, 60 percent of its customers will still be able to keep their travel plans over the planned strike by cabin crews. Industrial action is set to start with a three day walkout on March 20th. After that it will be followed up by a four day walkout on March 27th.

The carrier has announced a contingency plan to enable around 45,000 passengers to fly each day during the first strike period. The airline has also been able to come up with an agreement with 40 other carriers to allow their customers to rebook their flights free of charge in the event that their flight is canceled.

British Airways said that it would be updating its list of people who are due to travel during the second strike period after the first one has ended. Between March 20-22, 60 percent of long haul flights to and from Heathrow will operate as planned. 30 percent of short haul flights to and from the airport are to function as well. Out of Gatwick, a full schedule of long haul service will be in place. More than half of the short haul trips will go ahead as well. The flights to and from London City will be unaffected by the strikes, as will as services that are run by franchise partners.

Willie Walsh, the chief executive of British Airways said that they are deeply sorry to all customers who have been effected by this strike. The passengers are innocent victims in this cabin crew attack on the airline. Despite the desire of the Unite union to ground the airline, the flag will continue to fly high.
