Europcar Launches UK Home Delivery Service
by Stuart Parker August 18th, 2008
As one of the more prominent car hire companies in the UK, Europcar has made the decision to offer their clients home pick-up and delivery services if they hire a regular passenger vehicle or a van. This service is aimed to make hiring a car more convenient than before for the clients who hire a car by giving them an opportunity to ask the local store to deliver the vehicle they desire straight to their door. The customers who choose to use the option will also not have to concern theirself with returning the vehicle to a specific store location, since a representative from Europcar will collect the car when the hiring period has ended. This service is more convenient for Britons who plan on traveling domestically, as well as those who are visiting friends and family in other parts of the United Kingdom. However, foreign tourists can take advantage of the offer as well since the car can be delivered to wherever they are staying.
While the new service is not completely free, the fee associated with the service stands at a modest 10 pounds if the delivery location is 5 miles or less from the outlet. Customers that live farther away will pay a fee of 1.25 pounds extra per mile, following the initial distance of 5 miles. Since Enterprise is prominent in Britain as well, Europcar estimates that they will have an outlet withing 20 minutes of driving to almost any address throughout the United Kingdom. Additionally, Europcar also encourages clients that plan on driving long distances to purchase fuel when they hire the car, because they may save about 3 pence a litre in comparison to the normal price that is charged from most of the fuel stations.
