Eurostar Finally Resumes Services Between Brussels and UK
by Howard Williams March 2nd, 2010
It seems that Eurostar has finally said that it will resume its services between Brussels and the UK. These services returned to normal as of March 1. This high speed line was shut down after two trains hit head on.
To ensure that all customers get to their destinations, these services will be reinforced by a shuttle coach service between Brussels Midi and Lille Europe .Over the weekend, trains had be leaving Brussels 20 minutes earlier than the advertised time. Customers will be informed of this change to the timetable.
Eurostar did go on to thank its customers for their patience while they worked on the track between these two areas. Now that service has resumed, a speed restriction will be placed in this area. This will add approximately 5 minutes to journey time. Passengers are advised that other short delays could also occur due to new changes.
On February 27th and the 28th, there were a small number of services that were replaced by Eurostar between Lille and London by a shuttle coach service. Passengers who decided not to travel these days are being offered to exchange their tickets for a later travel date or get a full refund of their money.
However, on March 1st, the 7:59 Brussels to London service, which is train no. 9113, was canceled. Customers with tickets for this train are advised to come to the station and travel on either the 6:59 or the 9:29 train services to London. Space was available for the customers on these services. All other trains operated as they should.
