Ryanair Opens New Lounge at Stansted Airport
by Amy Drew February 1st, 2010
Apparently a brand new lounge has just opened, as of January 29th, for passengers flying with Ryanair out of the Stansted Airport. The “No. 1 Traveler” lounge will cost £17.50 per visit. It has a bistro, fully tendered bar and business facilities such as printing, fax and scanning.
The lounge itself can seat up to 50 people and also offers free UK land line calls, free wi-fi internet access, newspapers, magazines, board games and even televisions to watch. The lounge is located opposite of Gate 49 on Satellite 3. This is the area that most of Ryanair’s international flights depart from. It is also the second No. 1 Traveler lounge to open at the airport.
No. 1 Traveler is owned by former theater producer Phil Cameron. He said, commenting on the launch of this new lounge, that Stansted is a major airport with discerning passengers, creating their own travel itineraries. Phil went on to say that low cost travel often puts pressure on the passenger to arrive in good time. They recognize that many would welcome the opportunity to get the formalities out of the way and head out towards their gates to eat, drink and enjoy this kind of service.
No. 1 Traveler first launched its very first lounge at New York’s JFK International airport back in 2007. It went on to enter into the UK market with a lounge in Gatwick Airport, which opened in April of last year. Since then this name has been growing all over the UK and continues to do so with the opening of this new lounge.
