Hilton Hotels, the leading hotel company for the hospitality industry in the world, announced the appointments of 2 new General Managers for their properties in Abu Dhabi. For the Hilton Abu Dhabi with 325 rooms, Hilton Hotels has appointed Jan Moenkedieck to its General Manager, and Sherif Nassar has been appointed to be the Cluster General Manager of Hilton Corniche Hotel Apartments and Hilton Baynunah. Both of these new managers coincidentally make their way from Egypt to the United Arab Emirates. Moenkedieck was the General Manager for Conrad Cairo previously, and Nassar held the position of General Manager in Sharm El Sheikh at the Hilton Fayrouz Resort.

The profilic10 years long career of Moenkedieck with Hilton includes major launches of properties, restructuring and re-branding projects through Asia Pacific, India, and the United Arab Emirates, but most recently in Egypt. Moenkedieck’s prior engagement as the General Manager in the United Arab Emirates of Hilton Dubai Creek saw his successful operations over the property during 2002 to 2004. Nassar, however, has a career of 16 years in Egypt with Hilton, where his capabilities took him into key roles in sales and operations. He has seen general management roles since 2005 due to his consistent performance.

Essam Abouda, the Vice President of Hilton Hotels in the Arabian Peninsula and Indian Ocean, says that he is thrilled to make the announcement of the appointments of Sherif and Jan for their properties in Abu Dhabi. They focus strongly on aggressive internal promotion and training strategies, he continued, because they believe that both of these are necessary in maintaining the distinctive competitive edge of Hilton Hotels. Their brand provides numerous opportunities to their team members for taking on challenging positions and assuming top roles, which is why most of their people think of them as an employer of choice to develop a career, he said. Abu Dhabi is one of their major destinations, being within their existing portfolio, as well as a market of development, he added.
