Emirates Airline Shows Off Airbus A380
by Isabel Taylor August 8th, 2008
A commercial jetliner from Ritz-Carlton Hotels may look something similar to the Airbus A380-800 from Emirates Airline, which was displayed at the Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday. The huge passenger aircraft, which is one of the biggest and more luxurious, was flown to Los Angeles’ international airport in order to promote the new A380 services from Emirates Airline between the John F. Kennedy Airport and Dubai. The event was held at the Flight Path Museum in the airport where hundreds of invited guests from the airline and travel industry, alongside top local businesses, toured the jumbo jet, as well as went on a flight for 2 hours across the Pacific Ocean.
This aircraft is a double-decker about 80 feet high and 240 feet long, having 489 seats and worth 327 million dollars. It features 14 suites for first class that have converting seats into beds, widescreen video displays, mini-bars, and vanities. The aircraft also features 2 lounges and 2 shower-spas. The adjoining spas and showers are the first ever for a commercial plane and are made available for an 18,000 dollar round-trip airfare for first class passengers to New York from Dubai. The 76 seats in the business class are nearly as roomy as the ones in first class, as well as having a few similar amenities, which include smaller individual video screens and converting seats into beds. The 399 seats in coach are comfortable, having a cabin on the deck below, which is airy and open, and every seat has its own screen for viewing videos.
