New reports have come in showing that a Ryanair plane has just recently skidded off the runway at Glasgow Prestwick Airport. Apparently the Ryanair airplane was unable to stop after hitting a patch of ice just yesterday morning. Despite this mishap, no one on the plane was injured.

A Strathclyde Police spokesman said, that the plane ran off the runway just after 9am yesterday morning as it landed. The plane slipped onto the grass, but no one was injured and all of the passengers were taken to the terminal.

One passenger, Alex Paton, said that he and everyone else was pretty shocked when it happened. However, he did note that he thought most people did not even notice that they had skidded into a field. He went on to say that it was not until they were off the plane that everyone realized how deep the wheels had gone into the ground.

Of course, the passenger was quick to point out that the plane did not get too far into the field before it stopped. He said it looked as if the back end of the plane had just slid out a bit. Alex said that he thinks that the original plan was to pull the plane out of the filed, but the wheels must have just been too deep under the ground.

At the time of the event, it was unclear just how long the runway would be closed. The accident added to problems for air passengers that were attempting to reach Scotland’s largest city that morning with Glasgow airport already suffering big delays over weather.
