It seems that Flybe has just recently announced their plans to add 16 brand new routes to its summer 2010 schedule. These new routes will operate from its UK regional hubs in Birmingham, Guernsey, Manchester, Gatwick, Exeter, Jersey, and Southampton to mainland Europe.

These new routes are set to boost Flybe’s summer weekly schedule to 3,738 flights overall. The new services from Birmingham include 3 per week to Avignon, 4 per week to Bordeaux, 3 per week to Limoges, and 3 per week to Rennes. The Manchester services will run to Avignon 2 times a week, Bergerac 3 times per week, and Limoges 3 times per week.

The carrier will also be adding new weekly services from Jersey to Prestwick and Durham Tees Vally, Gatwick to Limoges, and Southampton to Verona. Flybe’s other new summer routes, which are also on sale, will serve the German city of Hannover from Exeter and Newcastle. There will also be a Bristol to the Isle of Man service. Some other highlights that Flybe has talked about include the return of the airline’s French regional routes from Exeter to Avignon, Bergerac and Rennes, together with services to Dubrovnic and Norwich.

The Flybe chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter, said that in an environment in which other airlines are withdrawing so many of their services, Flybe would like to offer close to 4,000 summer flights a week. That includes the operation of another 16 brand new routes. Flybe wishes to stay committed to ensuring that it offers an extensive range of quality flights to the widest possible range of destinations for a good price.
