Sixt happy with Top Gear viewers choices
by Stuart Parker December 7th, 2009
Viewers of the highly popular Top Gear TV show would have noticed Clarkson & Co recently asked their audience which auto manufacturer they considered to be the best, with the results of the poll announced during the most recent episode of the show.
The audience voted on BMW as being the top choice, with the Volkswagen coming in second place ahead of Ford.
UK based hire firm, Sixt, was immensely happy with the announcement, as when it comes to rental choices for customers, the group is pleased to offer the cars that the motoring public consider to be the best.
Sixt’s UK fleet consists of both Ford and Volkswagen models, as BMW is represented in some of the company’s overseas operations.
UK viewers of the programme rated the Ford Mondeo as a popular choice, although Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Mark Hammond disagreeing with the voters’ choice, claiming that over the past few years, the Lancia had actually produced the best cars.
The presenters continued to launch into a poignant review of the former glories of the Ford Marquis and delved into a fond recount of the Startos, Delta and Fulvia.
With such a strong history, the company was founded in 1903, with recent changes seeing the Ford company take control of Volvo, and also has partial stakes in Aston Martin and Mazda.
