Mahon Airport is also known as Minorca Airport and it serves the area of the Mediterranean Sea neat the coast of Spain. The airport handles about 1 million passengers every year and it serves 35 cities in 4 countries. There is a famous tragedy that occurred in September of 2006. A new terminal was being built at the airport when suddenly the roof collapsed and it trapped 20 workers as well as injuring 3.

The cause was determined to be due to heavy rain water built up on the roof. After the collapse the roof was rebuilt and has had no problems today.  There is a large parking area and the fee for parking is very reasonable and low. The airport offers 3 car hire services.
