Compare car hire Liverpool airport UK
There are many well known airports all over the world, but Liverpool Airport in the English city of Liverpool is very famous. Even though it is formerly known as Speke Airport, the locals do refer to it as Liverpool Airport or sometimes as Liverpool John Lennon Airport. The name does indeed come from the famous member of the popular music group, The Beatles, who was shot and killed by a fan after the Beatles announced they were splitting up. The Beatles started in Liverpool, and it’s only fitting that the name should be named after one of the greatest bands that ever lived.
Over the past few years, this has been Europe’s fastest growing airport. In fact, it has an increase from 1998 to 2007 that went from an annual 875,000 passengers to 5.47 million passengers! That is a huge jump over a span of less than ten years. In fact, back in May of 2007, they took in over 500,000 passengers in just one month. That is a ton of passengers for even bigger airports to take in. Not only that, but the Liverpool Airport also has a CAA Public Use Aerodrome License. This is a license that, not only allows for public transport, but it also allows for flying instruction as well. With the increase in the number of passengers, we have also seen an increase in the number of buses and cabs that come to the airport. The bus routes are changing to take care of the growing number of people that have to go to the airport and have to get there on time. They have buses that run around the clock trying to get people to the airport on time so that they do not miss their flight. There is not only public transport available to and from the airport, National, Hertz, Enterprise and Avis all have car hire counters in the airport. You can pick up and drop off your vehicle from the airport making car hire easy. There are also taxi’s running to and from the airport day or night.
