Las Palmas Airport is also known as Gran Canaria Airport and it is Spain’s 5th busiest airport. The airport handles over 10 million passengers each year. Two million of the passengers every year are coming to or from one of the other Canary Islands. This airport offers a wide selection of car hires including Hertz, Europcar, Record Gran Canaria, and Avis. On the ground floor of the airport you will find the arrivals hall that also has 86 check in desks and 5 different help areas.

There are three main sections to the airport called Zones. There are other options besides car hire. You can reserve a private driver to pick you up from the airport and take you to your destination. You can also use these private drivers to pick you up and bring you to the airport for your departure. Pre-booking can be done online. There are also taxi’s available outside of each airport zone and you will also find a bus or two around ready to take you to the nearby town. There are currently no train services for this airport.

When you arrive from the airport you will walk past a tour guide desk that offers information about the area and the local attractions. There is plenty of parking at this airport but the fee is a little higher then other airports. The fee for this parking area is €10.30 per day. There are seven automatic payment machines that take Euro notes and coins only. You can pay by credit card only if you visit the manual payment machine that is located on the first Level. There are off course restaurants and shopping places as well at the Las Palmas Airport.
